Levocetirizine hydrochloride, as a new generation of cetirizine, is suitable for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis and urticaria. It has higher efficacy and better safety than cetirizine hydrochloride in clinical practice, and is gradually replacing cetirizine hydrochloride and other anti-allergic drugs.

According to the statistical data from the PDB drug Comprehensive database of China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, from 2008 to 2016, the sales volume of levocetirizine hydrochloride in the sample hospitals in 22 key cities in China increased from 18 million yuan to 48.87 million yuan, especially the breakthrough since 2011, and the sales volume in 2016 increased greatly.
