Acrivastine is a second-generation antihistamine drug with a pyrrolamine structure and a competitive histamine H1 receptor antagonist, developed by Glaxo-Wellcome, a British company. Acrivastine is a derivative of trospidine, which can compete with histamine for binding to H1 receptors on effector cells, thereby inhibiting the allergic reaction caused by histamine. Because Acrivastine does not easily pass through the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier, it generally does not cause drowsiness adverse reactions, nor does it have muscarinic effects. The curative effect observation report for the treatment of chronic urticaria pointed out that the plasma half-life of Acrivastine is short, the drug is not easy to accumulate, and the side effects are relatively mild, without dry mouth, which is easy for patients to accept and is conducive to taking the drug for a long time. Clinical studies have shown that Acrivastine has a significant effect in the treatment of chronic urticaria, and the clinical effect achieved is better than that of loratadine.
