This product can be used for the treatment of hypertension. This product is a dihydropyridine-type calcium channel blocker. This product inhibits the transmembrane calcium influx of vascular smooth muscle and myocardium but is mainly vascular, so its vascular selectivity is strong. This product causes the dilation of systemic blood vessels such as coronary arteries and renal arterioles and produces hypotensive effects. Carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reproductively toxic rats have not seen carcinogenic effects after oral administration of the same drug nifedipine for two years. The results of mutagenicity studies in vivo were negative.
