Azithromycin is a macrolide antibacterial drug suitable for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by sensitive strains of designated microorganisms in the following specific diseases. Acute onset of chronic bronchitis bacterial infection caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae. Community-acquired pneumonia caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae. Acute otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae.
