This product is used to treat depression in adults. In two 12-week controlled clinical trials conducted on outpatients with depression in accordance with the standards of the American Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fourth Edition), the effectiveness of paroxetine hydrochloride enteric-coated sustained-release tablets in the treatment of depression episodes was established. The antidepressant effect of paroxetine on hospitalized patients with depression has not been fully studied. The efficacy and safety of paroxetine enteric-coated sustained-release tablets over 12 weeks have not been systematically evaluated in controlled clinical trials; however, it has been confirmed in controlled clinical trials that paroxetine immediate-release tablets can maintain up to 1 year in patients with depression The effectiveness of treatment (see [Clinical Trials]). If doctors choose paroxetine enteric-coated sustained-release tablets for long-term treatment, they should periodically reassess the long-term effectiveness of the drug for individual patients.
