Prevent urinary tract toxicity caused by oxazaphosphrine drugs (including ifosfamide, cyclophosphamide, trophasfamide). Mesna should be used at the same time when using ifosfamide in tumor chemotherapy. When using large doses of ifosfamide (greater than 10 mg/kg) and trophasfamide, mesna should be used in conjunction. The following patients should also be treated with mesna when using oxazaphosphrine drugs, that is, those who have had pelvic radiation, have been treated with the above three drugs and have developed cystitis and have a history of urinary tract injury.
