Fluorescein Sodium Injection is suitable for fluorescein angiography of diagnostic fundus and iris blood vessels. Before using Fluorescein Sodium Injection, check the product with the naked eye to check for particles and discoloration. Use this solution only when the solution is clear and free of particulates. For single use only. Do not mix or dilute this product with other liquid medicines in the syringe. The intravenous cannula should be flushed before and after the injection of liquid medicine to avoid mismatching with the injection needle. Taking care to avoid extravasation of the drug solution, inject the drug solution in the vial or pre-filled syringe into the anterior elbow vein quickly (usually 1 ml per second is recommended). Connect the syringe with sodium fluorescein to the transparent catheter and the 23-gauge scalp vein needle. The needle is inserted into the vein, and the patient's blood is drawn back into the syringe. At this time, a small air bubble in the cannula separates the patient's blood from the sodium fluorescein. Under the indoor light, slowly inject the blood back into the vein while observing the skin on the needle tip. If the needle tip is not in the vein, you will see the patient's blood bulging the skin. The injection should be stopped before the fluorescein injection. If you are sure that the needle tip is in the vein, turn off the chamber light and inject the fluorescein sodium completely. 7 to 14 seconds after the injection of this product, use standard equipment to observe that the retina and choroidal blood vessels show fluorescence. If a highly sensitive imaging system (such as scanning laser ophthalmoscope) is used, the dose can be reduced from 5 ml to 2 ml.
