Irsogladine Maleate is a gastroprotective agent. It also inhibits superoxide anion production induced by fMLP and increases cAMP levels in isolated human neutrophils in a concentration-dependent manner, similar to the phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor rolipram.
