Tizanidine is a central skeletal muscle relaxant developed by Novartis of Switzerland. It was first marketed in Denmark and Switzerland in January 1988. It is clinically used to treat diseases such as increased skeletal muscle tone, muscle spasm and muscle rigidity caused by central injury. It has a good effect on tension headache, trigeminal neuralgia and myofascial pain syndrome. It can also be used as a general or regional anesthesia adjuvant, preoperative and postoperative sedatives, and postoperative analgesics. This product does not produce psychological dependence at the therapeutic dose, relieves spasticity but does not cause muscle weakness.
