Clopidogrel has the characteristics of strong antithrombotic and rapid onset. Clopidogrel is effective in ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), unstable angina (UA)/non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is widely used in patients treated, but due to the genetic polymorphism of liver metabolic enzymes, some patients cannot achieve satisfactory results with the standard dose of clopidogrel. Prasugrel is also a thiophene pyridine prodrug, which needs to be metabolized in the liver and converted into an active product to exert its anti-platelet effect. Prasugrel's antiplatelet effect is stronger and faster than clopidogrel, but its bleeding risk is higher than clopidogrel.
