Vortioxetine Hydrobromide originally developed by Lundbeck Company in Denmark is a new type of multimodal antidepressant, which can not only block the reuptake of 5-HT by the 5-HT transporter (SERT) but also increase the concentration of central 5-HT. It can also regulate a variety of 5-HT receptors and exert a more comprehensive pharmacological effect, which is different from the existing 5-HT reuptake inhibitors. Since it was approved for marketing in the United States in 2013, its efficacy in improving symptoms has been verified in numerous clinical practices. So far, it has been approved for marketing by regulatory agencies in more than 70 countries and regions around the world. In addition, the incidence of adverse events of vortioxetine was significantly lower than that of traditional antidepressants. In November 2017, it was approved by the State Food and Drug Administration of China to be launched in my country. It is expected that this product will be a hotspot for the imitation of antidepressants in the next few years.
