Eribulin mesylate injection was developed by Eisa, Japan. It is a synthetic preparation of a chemotherapeutic compound extracted from a black soft sponge (Halichondria okadai). The injection is a microtubule inhibitor that can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is the first single-agent chemotherapeutic agent used for patients with metastatic breast cancer to improve overall survival. As a tubulin polymerization inhibitor with a new mechanism of action, Eribulin mesylate provides a new treatment method for patients with locally advanced breast cancer or metastatic breast cancer to improve survival and quality of life.
