Since the advent of miconazole in the late 1960s, azole drugs have become the main clinical treatment of fungal infections. With the emergence of drug resistance, new antifungal drugs need to be continuously developed. Luliconazole is a new imidazole antifungal drug developed by Nihon Nohyaku Company in Japan in 1995 and was launched in Japan in 2005. Luliconazole inhibits the 14α-demethylation stage of 14-methyllanosterol in the ergosterol synthesis pathway, thereby blocking the biosynthesis of ergosterol and exerting antifungal effects. The product has the advantage of short-term application. It is a new type of antifungal drug developed and marketed in recent years. It has better antibacterial effect than traditional ketoconazole cream and can increase the efficacy and shorten the course of treatment.
