Ondansetron mainly acts as an antiemetic effect by antagonizing the 5HT3 receptors of peripheral and central neurons, blocking the 5HT3 released from the small intestine caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. In July 2010, MonosolRx's ondansetron membrane was approved by the US FDA for marketing. It is especially suitable for children and patients with difficulty swallowing. Ondansetron injections and tablets have been included in the National Essential Drug List, and are clinically the first-line drugs for the treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by tumor chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The new dosage form of oral dissolving film has not yet been marketed in China. In 2017, the sales of terminal antiemetics and anti-nausea drugs in public medical institutions in China was 7.928 billion yuan, an increase of 9.23% year-on-year, of which ondansetron accounted for 13.73%, ranking third, and market demand continued to expand.
