Ertapenem is a new long-acting penem drug for injection developed by Merck. It was launched in the United States in 2001 under the trade name "Invanz". In 2005, Etapenem was approved to enter the domestic market under the trade name "Yiwanzhi". Since the product was launched in 2006, the year-on-year growth rate has exceeded 30.0%. This product is a carbapenem antibacterial drug with a broad antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial activity. It has antibacterial effects on aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, especially against multi-drug-resistant gram-negative bacilli, such as producing extended-spectrum β- Amidase (ESBL) Enterobacteriaceae bacteria have strong antibacterial activity. Such drugs have a wide range of clinical indications and play an important role in the antibacterial treatment of multi-drug resistant bacteria infections, mixed infections of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, severe infections and infections in immunodeficiency patients. Currently, there are 5 varieties of carbapenem antibacterial drugs on the market in my country: Imipenem, Meropenem, Panipenem, Biapenem and Ertapenem.
