Tiotropium bromide is an inhaled anticholinergic bronchodilator, modified based on ipratropium bromide. Compared with other effective COPD drugs, Tiotropium Bromide shows increased efficacy and longer lasting effects. The binding force (kd) of tiotropium bromide to M receptor is stronger than that of ipratropium bromide, and its selectivity to M3 is improved. In addition, the dissociation rate (koff) of tiotropium bromide to M3 receptor is significantly lower than that of isopropyl bromide. The dissociation rate of troponium bromide, so that the residence time of tiotropium bromide on the M3 receptor is significantly prolonged, and the time to stay and bind to M3 is long, so that the dosage and frequency of medication is less than that of ipratropium bromide. Tiotropium bromide has been marketed in various markets in China and abroad for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
