Acatadine is a drug developed by the famous ophthalmic drug company Allergan to prevent itchy eyes in patients with allergic conjunctivitis. It was approved by the FDA on July 28, 2010. Acatadine is a histamine H1-receptor antagonist and mast cell stabilizer. It inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells and prevents the effect of histamine, thereby reducing allergic reactions.
