"A new type of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor successfully developed by Gilead Siences of the United States, which is a cytosine nucleoside analogue, is an antiviral drug, and was approved by the FDA on July 2, 2003. After oral administration, this product is phosphorylated and enters the viral DNA backbone. Studies have shown that emtricitabine has specific antiviral activity against HIV-1, HIV-2 and HBV. The virus activity is 4-10 times that of palamivudine. The clinical experiment results show that emtricitabine has a significant viral inhibitory effect when used in HIV-infected patients. It can be used in the treatment of hepatitis B and can reduce hepatitis B in chronically infected patients. Virus level."
