The trade name is Flolan, and it was approved by the FDA on September 20, 1995 for the treatment of patients with cardiac obstructive pulmonary disease. Clinically, it is mainly used in cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, and it can replace heparin in renal dialysis. It is also used to treat the hypercoagulable state of the blood and various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular ischemic diseases, Raynaud's disease, primary pulmonary hypertension and platelet exhaustion diseases. This product is a prostacyclin drug. Prostacyclin is a metabolite of arachidonic acid, mainly produced by vascular endothelium. Studies have shown that a deficiency of prostacyclin can cause PAH. Prostacyclin not only has a strong expansion of pulmonary and systemic blood vessels, but also has an anti-platelet aggregation effect. Previously, similar drugs approved by NMPA are iloprost solution for inhalation and Treprostinil injection. This product can inhibit platelet aggregation by increasing cAMP in platelets and is not metabolized when passing through pulmonary circulation. It can prevent thrombosis during cardiopulmonary bypass. Higher doses can deaggregate platelet clots, prolong skin bleeding time by 2 times, and reduce platelet levels. It has a procoagulant effect and reduces the release of heparin neutralizing factors. It is the strongest anticoagulant found.
