Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin used to prevent gastric ulcers caused by NSAID. This product is a prostaglandin E1 derivative, which has a powerful effect of inhibiting gastric acid secretion. The gastric acid that can be inhibited includes basic gastric acid secretion and gastric acid secretion caused by histamine pentagastrin, food or coffee stimulation.
