Lopinavir is a protease inhibitor of HIV-1 and HIV-2. It can be combined with low-dose ritonavir to improve its pharmacokinetic properties. Lopinavir combined with low-dose ritonavir compound tablets was approved by the United States in 2000 Approved by the Food and Drug Administration, it is currently used as a first-line or second-line treatment against human immunodeficiency virus and plays an important role in antiviral treatment for HIV patients who have failed initial treatment of resistance. Lopinavir/Ritonavir is the world's first compound protease inhibitor for the treatment of AIDS, and one of the first protease inhibitors in the initial antiviral treatment combination in the European and American AIDS diagnosis and treatment guidelines. Ritonavir is used as an enhancer of lopinavir to avoid the low blood concentration caused by the rapid metabolism of lopinavir and lose the therapeutic effect.
