Micafungin sodium is the second echinocandin drug used in clinical practice after caspofungin. It is an antifungal drug developed by Japan Astellas. It was first launched in Japan in 2002 and was launched in May 2005. Approved by the FDA for listing in the United States. It mainly inhibits the synthesis of 1,3-β-D-glucan, the main component of fungal cell walls, thereby destroying the synthesis of fungal cell walls, affecting cell morphology and osmotic pressure, and leading to cell lysis and death. Compared with traditional antifungal drugs, the micafungin sodium has a unique mechanism of action, low toxic and side effects, and has strong antibacterial activity against some azoles and amphotericin B-resistant fungi.
